Private transfer at Tangier TGV station — Al Boraq, forecourt and Northy van

Al Boraq, connections and transfers into the North

Everything around Tanger Ville station — ferry, hotel, high-speed rail and Rif / Tamuda Bay destinations.

Tangier’s TGV station (Tanger Ville) is the northern terminus of Al Boraq, Morocco’s high-speed train run by ONCF. From Tangier you reach Kenitra, Rabat and Casablanca in about 2 h 10 — at up to 320 km/h. The train is fast; the weak link is often the road: ferry, hotel or northern coast without a synced private transfer.

At Northy we handle door-to-door transfers to and from the station: Tanger Med Port → TGV, hotel → station, then direct runs to Chefchaouen, Tetouan or Cabo Negro. This guide covers the essentials. Ferry arrival? See also our Tanger Med and Tanger Ville Port guides.

In one sentence — what is a Tangier TGV station transfer?

A Tangier TGV / Al Boraq station transfer is a private ride from the high-speed station to your hotel, medina, TNG airport or another city — curb-side pickup and a licensed Northy tourist vehicle.

The Al Boraq experience: high-speed rail in Morocco

Al Boraq reshaped the Atlantic corridor: a half-day drive becomes a short, comfortable hop. On board: spacious seats, Wi‑Fi on many trains, air-conditioning and a carefully run high-speed timetable.

 • Business travel comfort Ideal for a morning trip to Rabat or Casablanca and an evening return — luggage stored, departure from central Tangier.
 • International connections Many travellers chain Europe ferry → Tanger Med → TGV or TGV → hotel / Mediterranean coast. A private transfer keeps schedules aligned.
 • Families & groups After the train, a Vito or Sprinter beats fragmented taxis and kerbside haggling — especially with kids or bulky luggage.

Tip: reach the station 30–40 minutes before departure (ticket check, orientation). For very early or late trains, book the transfer the day before — we cover early and late slots.

Tanger Med Port → Tangier TGV station

Tanger Med Port is not downtown: allow about 45–60 minutes to Tanger Ville station depending on traffic and exit time. Same-day ferry + Al Boraq works — if you build a realistic buffer.

 1. Passenger terminal exit — after the intra-port shuttle and customs (see our Tanger Med guide).
 2. Northy meet & greet — name board, luggage help, immediate departure to the station.
 3. Drop-off on the forecourt — near the passenger entrance, with time for tickets and boarding.
 4. Reverse direction — we collect you at the station after Al Boraq and drop you at Tanger Med with a 2–3 h ferry buffer.

In Marhaba season or busy weekends, add 1 hour of buffer between port exit and TGV departure. Send us ferry company + Al Boraq train number — we sync both.

Hotel (or address) → TGV station

From the medina, Malabata, the centre or the Corniche, the ride to Tanger Ville station usually takes 10–30 minutes. A private transfer skips taxi hunting and luggage stress in narrow streets.

 • Hotel pickup Collection at the agreed time outside your riad, hotel or Airbnb — luggage help, child seats on request.
 • Train return We track your Al Boraq time and wait on the forecourt — then straight to your accommodation.
 • Multiple addresses Split group in town? A Sprinter can chain 2–3 pickups before the station.

From the TGV station: Chefchaouen, Tetouan, Cabo Negro

Al Boraq does not serve the Rif or Tamuda Bay coast. Straight off the train, Northy takes you direct — no forced night in Tangier if your schedule allows.

 • TGV → Chefchaouen The blue pearl of the Rif in about 2 h – 2 h 30 from the station. Direct run, optional stops — ideal after a train from Casa or Rabat.
 • TGV → Tetouan To the UNESCO medina or city centre in about 1 h – 1 h 15. Perfect for chaining business, culture and an evening on the coast.
 • TGV → Cabo Negro Resorts and villas in Cabo Negro / Tamuda Bay in about 1 h 15 – 1 h 30. Drop-off at hotel reception or your GPS pin.

These links pair with our private chauffeurs and tourist transport for the days after (medina, beaches, day trips).

How Northy runs your connection

Send us your Al Boraq train number + date + time (and ferry details if you connect). Then:

 1. Schedule tracking — we anticipate small delays so we stay present.
 2. Clear meeting point — Tanger Ville forecourt / passenger exit, name board ready.
 3. Right vehicle — Mercedes Vito (up to 7), Sprinter (16–17) or 35-seat coach.
 4. Immediate departure to hotel, port, airport, Chefchaouen, Tetouan or Cabo Negro.

Vehicles for the TGV station

 • Mercedes Vito — 7 seats Families and business travellers: VIP comfort, A/C, space for Al Boraq + ferry luggage.
 • Mercedes Sprinter — 16 to 17 seats Groups, teams, extended families — one vehicle from the forecourt.
 • Coach — 35 seats Clubs, seminars and organised trips synced to a train or ferry.

Why book a private transfer instead of a random taxi?

 • Fixed price before the ride — no surprise on the forecourt.
 • Driver who knows station access, parking and routes to the Rif / Tamuda Bay.
 • Ferry + TGV + hotel synced on one booking.
 • Vehicle sized (Vito, Sprinter, coach) for your group.
 • Early morning and late evening service when ad‑hoc options thin out.
